On a recent trip, we started our discovery right in the heart of downtown — a place full of personality, creativity, and color.
First stop? Mirada Art on Main, a welcoming local gallery that showcases an inspiring collection of art, textiles, and handmade treasures. We’re proud that Beksan Designs' jewelry and accessories are often featured here.
As we stepped inside, we were greeted by the gallery's vibrant mix of artwork: from vivid paintings and intricate weavings to beautiful handcrafted jewelry.
Our own natural gemstone pieces, crafted in silver and gold-fill, are especially popular — each one telling its own story, just like the coast that inspires us.
A Taste of Istanbul in Half Moon Bay
Art and culture always make us hungry — and fortunately, Main Street is lined with culinary gems too! To celebrate the day with owner Sherri and our dear friend and collaborator Jodi, we had dinner at Ciya, an authentic Turkish restaurant that feels like a little slice of Istanbul right here in the Bay.
We chatted with the owner in Turkish, reminisced about our time in Istanbul, and savored every bite — especially the spinach börek, chicken shish kebab, and perfectly roasted vegetables. The cozy ambiance and heartfelt hospitality made it a night to remember.

Another favorite spot for a family dinner is Pasta Moon, an elevated Italian restaurant located just down the street. Their fresh, locally sourced dishes and cozy-yet-sophisticated vibe make it a must-visit every time we're in town.
