Travel Abroad in Style

Travel to Europe is exploding this Spring/Summer and recently Nevra got back from a trip with her husband to London and Florence.  As you may know, their daughter Kayla lives/works in London, and they were so excited to reconnect and spend time together.

Although the skies were gray, Spring/Summer fashion was everywhere in the store windows.  Smartly, Nevra chose to bring her trench coat because that is truly “the” outerwear for Spring and Summer in Europe.  The most popular length right now is mid-calf and they’re showing trench style “dusters” in a variety of colors and styles.

Some of the other key fashion trends included:

  • Loose, wide-leg style pants and jeans, (with some straight leg, so don’t toss them)
  • Skirt lengths mostly maxi for the work/more mature crowd or “mini” for the younger crowd
  • Stylish athletic shoes/sneakers; worn with maxi skirts as well as pants both daytime and out to dinner!!
  • Striped tops, both thin and thicker stripes
  • Neutral colors, a lot of white, beige, grey accented with some bold pinks, green, and yellow
  • Floral blouses and dresses
  • Eye-let dresses and tops for summer

In the UK scarves and jewelry accessories frequently accent and add color to one’s look.  Nevra was so glad she brought two of her favorite Beksan scarves! Her daytime scarf was a lighter neutral, this off-white and grey pashmina which went so well with her black trench coat,

For nighttime style, she preferred her silk and felt decorated gold scarf.

Nevra noticed that gold tone jewelry is currently popular in London and Florence too.  She enjoyed wearing her Beksan Designs’ link chain necklace (14k gold fill), layering both the shorter link chain and the longer paper clip chain.  She wore them with a pair of gemstone earrings set in 24kt gold vermeil.  When she wanted to sparkle, her crystal ½ hoop earrings were great for day or evening.

Following the tips we highlighted for London in our Spring Travel blog. Nevra visited both the Natural History Museum and National Art Gallery.  While the entrance to both museums is free, she visited an amazing ticketed exhibit at the National Art Gallery: “After Impressionism: Inventing Modern Art” https://www.nationalgallery.org.uk/exhibitions which is showing until 8/13/23, for you art enthusiasts out there!

We’re excited to share our new rings, earrings, bracelets, necklaces, & beautiful scarves with you.  Check them out online, at an upcoming event, https://beksandesigns.com/pages/events, or make a personal shopping appointment with meyla@beksandesigns.com.  Happy shopping and travels!
