At Beksan Designs we noticed that our Lapis, Aquamarine, Fluorite, Amethyst, and Sapphire gemstones are in high demand. So we started thinking about why this is happening. Could this demand be following the 2013 Fall Fashion trends? Although summer is still in the air, we are noticing the change of summer into fall colors in the fashion world; various shades of blue, green, purple and red are popping up in September magazine ads and in many fashion photos!
Here is what Pantone sees as the New Fashion Colors for Fall 2013: (adapted from

- Ahead of the fall 2013 fashion weeks, Pantone released their predictions of the season’s top color trends. Greens continue to feature heavily however away from the greens, Pantone predicts Acai purple, Mykonos blue (“Who wouldn’t like to get to a wonderful Greek island and breathe in the beautiful sea air?” notes Leatrice Eiseman, Pantone’s executive director), Samba red and Vivacious pink.
- Leatrice Eiseman goes on to say “Just as the leaves change in autumn, the consumer will enjoy the ability to change their “look” and try a new approach to their wardrobe for brisk days ahead. The Fall 2013 palette allows for that versatility and experimentation!
These colors are found through-out Beksan Designs’ collections of semi-precious stones set in 24k gold vermeil (Antika) and brass.
Amethyst as a gem stone
: purple, purple, purple and comes in soooo many shades, similar to Acai purple.
Lapis is a true reflection of Mykonos blue.
Green aventurine and jade fulfill the desire for green, and
rose quartz and red agate are the gemstones for those looking for shades like Samba red or Vivacious pink.
